What do you get when you put these 7 little pieces of crochet together?
Any guesses??????
They aren't usually blue, but sometimes they are.
Ta Da!
I figured out the pattern for this guy a few days ago because I needed blue lobsters to go with my latest doll - a New England fisherman.
If you want to make your own little blue lobster you can download my free pattern here. Download Little Blue Lobster
that's amazing! you make it look so easy!

Sorry...I guess I gave away some of the surprise. I was just so excited to post a comment.

Thanks PooToo! It took me a bit of "trial and error" (with lots of error!) to figure out a system of parts to come up with an acceptable assembled lobster. :-)

Hair Claudine??? My lobster may have a bit of fuzz but he doesn't exactly have hair. Perhaps you are talking about the fisherman? If so, THANKS. I'll get photos of the fisherman posted as soon as I can get Mike to go to the docks to do a photo shoot.

Thanks Michelle!!! You can make one for Jonah, except they are pretty little (palm of the hand size) so maybe he'd have a blue lobster dinner... :-).

They're so realistic, I'm already boiling the water and getting out the butter!
But they're also so cute, I would probably set those lucky lobsters free :)
Beautifully made and beautifully photographed too!

Ha ha ha! Thanks Howie. Re: my lobsters being realistic: I was trying to go for the essence of real lobsters, but I tried to "boil them down" (to use lobster speak) to just the key details. Take care Howie.

Thank you very much, I've been looking for a tiny realistic lobster pattern for ages and yours is perfect. I especially love the fact that it's blue, because all the toy lobsters I usually see are red. :)

Oh my goodness, my little lobster turned out SO CUTE! I added antennae and did a little extra sewing to smooth out the claws a bit, and also used a few stitches to secure the legs and claw arms because I didn't want to risk accidentally pulling them out.
And it was nice and simple to crochet, even for a novice like me (I've knitted since I was 7 or 8, but only learned to crochet last year). Thank you again!

Hi Silverleaf. I'm so glad your little lobster turned out well. I would LOVE TO SEE HIM. Feel free to send me a photo. There is also a Ravelry group where you can add a photo of your lobster. You can find it here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/little-blue-lobster/people
You have to be a member of Ravelry to post photos, but if you're not a member, you should join (it's free!). Take care and thanks for letting me know that you liked the pattern.
