A few years ago I wrote my first knitting pattern - a pattern for a pair of skull & crossbones wristwarmers for my friend Martha. I posted a picture on the Skull-a-Day blog and started selling the pattern for a small fee on Etsy (donating all profits to KittyKind) and giving the pattern away to anyone who wrote to me. So far I've sold or given away many many patterns to many many nice people! Now that I have a blog, you can download the pattern directly.

Hope you enjoy the pattern.
Yay Kara! Miss you tons, how's Jersey? Need any tips, do you have a car?
Hope to see you soon, babe, our little SnB group seems to really be waning....

Love these!
And I love the photo of them.
Thanks for offering a free pattern. I'm once again (as always) impressed by the generosity of crafty people.

Hi,
I am using your pattern and posted about it on my blog. Thank you for making it available! The final recipient of the gift I'm making will be so thrilled :-)
I'm rather a technical dummy, so I have a question. Ought I be doing something with the trackback URL that you provide? I'd like to do the right thing but I'm not sure how!

Hi Marie. I'm even more of a technical dummy because I don't even know what that trackback URL thin is!!! It just shows up on my blog and i don't know how to get rid of it. Maybe someday I'll figure it out but don't worry about trying to do anything with it. Glad you like the pattern and hope the recipient likes the gift. It's amazing how many people are making the wrist warmers as gifts. Knitters are generous, generous folks. Take care Marie! Kara

I stumbled over here from Ravelry. Thanks so much for sharing your pattern. I am going to use some glow in the dark yarn for the skull, for my nephew the pirate on Halloween. Eventually I will get a blog up and running, and I will share pix! Thanks again

Hello,
I found this pattern linked from Ravelry and I just knitted these for my brother who is obsessed with all things pirate. I can't wait to give them to him! Thanks so much for the pattern :)
